Outreach

Matt Cowart, director of the 2010 production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, speaks to Winston-Salem, NC school students.

When there are no rules, there are no limits.  Our mission to bring high-quality theatre to diverse audiences carries with it a responsibility to make people think about art, their lives and our world. We strive to make all of our productions an engaging experience from the moment you walk through our front doors until the second you leave.  Education and outreach is a natural extension of this work, aiming to engage the same artistic life into our community.

Our Outreach Program is preparing to impact the Washington, DC and Winston-Salem, NC communities through education and collaboration.  We are planning workshops for performers pursuing work at a professional level, as well as theatre classes for members of the community.  This summer, we will launch an exciting new musical theater intensive for kids. We wish to continue to grow as artists by collaborating with local colleges and universities.  Through post show talk-backs and programs geared towards local schools, we aim to encourage our patrons to speak their personal truths and share their stories.
