“BRINGING TEXT TO LIFE”

Co-Artistic Director Joshua Morgan (Touch, Some Girl(s), Hedwig and the Angry Inch) will teach a scene study class that focuses on clarifying and building on the individual actors process specifically with written text. This class will help actors at various stages in their training and experience explore their process and give them new tools to help them lift the text off of the page through personalization, vocal, physical and technical exercises. It is a forum for each participant to openly share the steps they take to breaking down a character and approaching a script. Morgan will guide each student to help find the tools they need to take the “mystery” out of activating and personalizing someone else’s words.

Students will be accepted by interview only. To schedule an interview, please send an email to Heather Davis (Education and Outreach Coordinator) at heather@norulestheatre.org. There are 11 slots available.

March 21: 7 – 10 PM
March 28: 7 – 10 PM
March 30: 7 – 10 PM
April 3: 1 – 4 PM
April 6: 7 – 10 PM
April 10: 1 – 4 PM
(Students are allowed two “out” days over the course of the month that should be agreed upon up front)
